Ross Polson- in the Spotlight
With impressive
networks experience and a way of getting the job done, Ross Polson, has enjoyed
a variety of roles with a leading UK banking group over the past fifteen
years. Recent projects have been quite
diverse in nature but needed the same skill set, consistent approach and cool
head under pressure.
As a project lead
for bringing social media to this banking group, Ross spent a year looking at
the connectivity of Ipad, Iphones and other recently introduced communications
tools. With the major challenge of
security overcome, the project successfully went live late last year.
Ross said, “It was
gratifying seeing the project go live.
Some of the applications were really quick and useful, particularly the
remote applications.”
Ross is currently
grappling with a new project relating to real estate within a separate division
of the group and working out what infrastructure sits where and assessing what
will be needed going forward. The difficulty
in this information gathering exercise is the struggle to get to the bottom of
things and determine what actually sits in which buildings!
After a myriad of
challenges to overcome at the start, Ross is happy that he has built a good
relationship with the team reporting to him.
The team are also starting to build up the bank of information they need
before any recommendations can be made.
A real highlight of
the project for Ross was finding a great new consultant who he has recently
convinced to join the Ballintrae team.
Ross enjoys working
for Ballintrae and the relationships he has within the business. He also finds it refreshing to be able to
influence management decisions. In his
spare time, Ross enjoys football and goes running.
